Natural Environment:
The Gamigaya engravings are situated on the southwestern slopes of Camisholan, on the Garangush plain near Mount Gapijig, at an altitude of 3,907 metres above sea level, in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, within the territory of Ordubad District. The main area where the Gamigaya drawings are located is the Garangush plain. The illustrations, which are located on the grey and black surfaces of the cliffs, are mainly pink in colour. The locations of the drawings are topographically very complex. The rock illustrations are grouped together and are mainly located close to water sources. We can identify similar groups in 5–6 places in the northeastern part of Dali Bulag. However, there are also some illustrations that lie outside these groups.
Archaeological evidences in the site:
The Gami-Gaya Rock of Nakhchivan offers more than 1500 punched out and carved rock images, cemetery, necropolis, old settlements, graves, raft stones and plenty of caves and shelters of different periods.
