Natural Environment:

A wide plain is crossed by the Huebra, Yeltes and Gavilanes Rivers, which have cut small ravines in the granite. Grassland with holm oaks, with some cork trees and deciduous oaks. Gallery woodland following the courses of the rivers.


Archaeological evidences in the site:

El Castillo Hill-fort is in Yecla la Vieja. Located on a high platform between crags and surrounded by streams, the hill-fort is encircled by a thick wall which encloses about five hectares. The wall sits on the bedrock and is built with well-adjusted dry-stone granite blocks.
