Natural Environment:

The mountain ranges of La Virgen and Cordoneros are no very high mountains composed of quartzites and covered by Mediterranean vegetation. They have a wide view over the great planes of La Mancha region where an extensive agriculture has been developed since Prehistoric times.


Archaeological evidences in the site:

The mountain ranges of La Mancha region (from Toledo Mountains to Albacete province, across the province of Ciudad Real) host a large number of rock-shelters with Schematic rock art. These decorates places are connected with open air settlements, where the first farmers and metallurgists of the region developed rich cultures, especially from the Chalcolithic to the end of the Bronze Age.
