Natural Environment:

The Cultural Park of Rio Vero is located in the north of Sierra de Guara, a Natural Park, with spectacular karst relief, including canyons and numerous caves and rock-shelters. A variety of fauna and flora. The south of the Park is in the area of the Pyrenean foothills, with gentler relief and Mediterranean scenery, with vineyards, olives, almonds and cereals.


Archaeological evidences in the site:

The archaeological evidence in the Park is focused on prehistoric rock art and its chronological and spatial archaeological context. The Visitors’ Centre has a replica of the main group of art in Cueva de la Fuente del Trucho, and guided visits can be made to four rock art sites (some them with several rock shelters) that are open to the public (the sites of Arpán, Mallata, Barfaluy, Chimiachas and Quizáns). If booked in advance, specialized visits can be made to the Palaeolithic site of Cueva de la Fuente del Trucho.

Opening Times:

The Park is opened the public every day of the year. The guided visits to the shelters are realized only the weekends, in spring and autumn, during the Holy Week, and every day, from 1st July to 15th September (except on Monday). Out of this calendar it is necessary coordinate visits in advance.
